 1                     AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 403

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 403, AS AMENDED, by
 3    replacing subsection (d) of Sec. 24-3.1 of Section  105  with
 4    the following:

 5        "(d)  A  unit  of local government, including a home rule
 6    unit,  may  not   regulate   the   acquisition,   possession,
 7    transportation,  storage, purchase, sale, or other dealing in
 8    rifles  and  shotguns,  and  may  not  regulate   ammunition,
 9    components,  accessories,  or  accoutrements  for  rifles and
10    shotguns in a manner inconsistent with subsection (a).   This
11    Section  is  limitation  under subsection (i) of Section 6 of
12    Article VII of the Illinois Constitution  on  the  concurrent
13    exercise by home rule units of powers and functions exercised
14    by the State.".
