1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Christian H. "Bud" Solfisburg III, who passed away
5 November 12, 2000; and
6 WHEREAS, Mr. Solfisburg was on December 23, 1921 in
7 Aurora, Illinois, to Christian II and Louise Solfisburg; he
8 was married to the late Mary Francis Solfisburg; and
9 WHEREAS, Christian was a life-long Aurora resident; he
10 attended Leigh and Duke University, prior to enlisting in the
11 military during World War II; upon completion of his military
12 service, he returned to Aurora and joined the family
13 business, Builder's Supply Company, where he was co-owner; he
14 was also a former member of the Elks Club and the Aurora
15 Country Club; and
16 WHEREAS, Mr. Solfisburg was an avid sports fan; he
17 enjoyed playing, attending games and watching games on
18 television; and
19 WHEREAS, The passing of Christian H. Solfisburg III will
20 be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his
21 children, Christian Solfisburg IV, James (wife, Alberta)
22 Solfisburg, Mary Louise (husband, William) Scanlon, Robert
23 (wife, Amy) Solfisburg, and Joan Mary (husband, Joseph) Daul,
24 his 21 grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren; and his
25 brother, John K. Solfisburg; and
26 WHEREAS, Christian devoted his life to his wife and his
27 family and they will miss his physical presence, but will
28 forever keep his memory in their hearts; therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
31 all who knew him, the death of Christian H. Solfisburg III of

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Christian H. Solfisburg III.
