1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Eddie J. Brown, Jr., who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Eddie J. Brown, Jr. was born in Minter City,
6 Mississippi on March 10, 1940; his parents were Eddie and
7 Beulah Brown; and
8 WHEREAS, Eddie J. Brown, Jr. and Cora J. Burks were
9 united in holy matrimony on December 5, 1964; he accepted
10 Jesus Christ as his Savior at Baptist Grove Church; he
11 attended and graduated from T.Y. Fleming Elementary and High
12 School and attended Mississippi Valley State College; during
13 his college days he joined the United States Army Reserve
14 where he served for six years; and
15 WHEREAS, Eddie J. Brown, Jr. moved to Chicago in 1964; he
16 joined New Mount Olive Church of God in Christ, where he
17 served as Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon; he later
18 joined New Covenant Church of God in Christ, where he served
19 as Deacon, Adult Teacher, and Assistant Sunday School
20 Superintendent; and
21 WHEREAS, Eddie J. Brown, Jr. will be remembered by all
22 that knew and loved him, especially his wife, Cora; his
23 children, Karen (Francois), Kimberly (Derrick), Cedric,
24 Patrick, and Eddie J. Brown III; a special child, Paul David
25 Brown; his grandchildren, Keith, Karen, Kymyatta, Nicholas,
26 and Kiara; his sister, Altonia; his brothers, Jessie, Cassie,
27 and Willie; his uncle, Hunter; his aunt, Lucille; his two
28 sisters-in-law; his six brothers-in-law; his God-daughter;
29 and his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be
30 it
31 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
2 all that knew and loved him, the death of Eddie J. Brown, Jr.
3 of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Eddie J. Brown, Jr.
