1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate have learned with
3 great sadness that Elaine M. Rhoades of Big Rock, Illinois,
4 passed away on October 9, 2000; and
5 WHEREAS, Elaine M. Rhoades was born October 22, 1925 in
6 Aurora, Illinois to the late Earl and Mabel Kahle; and
7 WHEREAS, Elaine M. Rhoades was united in marriage to
8 Delbert A. Rhoades on July 7, 1951; her children are, son and
9 daughter-in-law, Bruce and Wendy Rhoades, and son Brian
10 Rhoades; her grandchildren are Tonya Graver, and Tracy
11 Rhoades; her great grandson, Eric; her sisters, Mary
12 Keslinger, and Carol Heidel; as well as her nieces and
13 nephews; and
14 WHEREAS, Elaine M. Rhoades will also be greatly missed by
15 all of her employees, customers, business contemporaries, and
16 all of her close friends; and
17 WHEREAS, Elaine M. Rhoades was a member of English
18 Congregational United Church of Christ, where she taught
19 Sunday School as her children were growing up; she held a
20 great joy for her work, she was the first secretary of Lakone
21 Co. in the mid-1940's; she and Delbert subsequently became
22 partners of Lakone Co. in 1967; and
23 WHEREAS, Elaine M. Rhoades was one to live life to the
24 fullest; she loved to entertain at home, decorate for each
25 holiday, partake in the monthly card games with her friends,
26 and taking her great grandson for golf cart rides; but most
27 importantly, she shared a great love for her family and
28 friends; therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
31 all who knew her, the death of Elaine M. Rhoades of Big Rock,

1 Illinois; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Elaine M. Rhoades.
