1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Charles L. (Charlie) Haussmann of Aurora, Illinois, who
5 recently passed away; and
6 WHEREAS, Mr. Haussmann was born in Aurora, Illinois on
7 May 14, 1927; his parents were George F. and Hazel S.
8 Haussmann; and
9 WHEREAS, Charles L. Haussmann was Captain of Engine
10 Company #7 of the Aurora Fire Department, where he retired in
11 1983 with over twenty-seven years of service; he also served
12 as the Aurora Fire Department Training Officer and as shift
13 commander; and
14 WHEREAS, Charles L. Haussmann worked at Aurora Ace
15 Hardware after his retirement; he was a master craftsman who
16 enjoyed working with wood and building clocks; he was a
17 member of the Aurora Autocrats Car Club; he was involved with
18 the Boy Scouts and was a member of the Eagle Scout selection
19 committee; he also served as a foster father for many young
20 children in the Aurora area; and
21 WHEREAS, The passing of Charles L. Haussmann will be felt
22 by all that knew him, especially his loving wife of nearly
23 fifty-two years, Colleen; his children, Cynthia, Curtis
24 (Christine), Charles A., and Caryllyn; his grandchildren,
25 Matthew, Jonathan, Ashley, Megan, Katie, and Charlie; his
26 brothers, George F. (Ruth) and Richard; and many nieces,
27 nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
30 all that knew and loved him, the death of Charles L.
31 (Charlie) Haussmann of Aurora, Illinois; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Charles L. Haussmann.
