1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of United States Navy Lieutenant
4 Commander Raymond O'Hare; and
5 WHEREAS, Raymond O'Hare was a 1984 graduate of Brother
6 Rice High School in Chicago, where he played basketball and
7 football; he received his bachelor's degree in history from
8 Harvard University in 1989, where he played defensive end and
9 punter on the football team; and
10 WHEREAS, Raymond O'Hare and his wife, Colleen, met at
11 Harvard University and were married in January of 1992; in
12 1990 he joined the United States Navy, where he graduated
13 first in his class from Officers Candidate School; and
14 WHEREAS, Raymond O'Hare served as radar intercept officer
15 on F-14s, based in Miramar, California, from 1992 to 1997; he
16 is remembered as being a man strong in faith, who always
17 thought of others first; and
18 WHEREAS, Raymond O'Hare is survived by his wife, Colleen;
19 his children, Katherine, Elizabeth, and Thomas; his mother,
20 Sally; his father, Bob; his brothers, Michael and Mark; and
21 his sister, Christine Taber; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
24 all that knew and loved him, the death of United States Navy
25 Lieutenant Commander Raymond O'Hare, Illinois; and be it
26 further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Raymond O'Hare.
