1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Ferris A. Coffrin of Charleston on Tuesday,
4 February 22, 2000; and
5 WHEREAS, Ferris Coffrin was born in Luray, Missouri, on
6 March 9, 1931, the son of David A. and Phyllis Watson
7 Coffrin; he married Betty Johnson in Oakland in 1976; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Coffrin retired from Moore Business Forms
9 with thirty-seven years of service; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Coffrin was a United States Navy veteran,
11 having served in the Korean War; upon his discharge he became
12 a life member in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul McVey Post
13 1592 of Charleston; he was a member of the Charleston Masonic
14 Lodge #35, a member of the Cornbelt Shrine, and a 32nd Degree
15 Mason Danville Consistory; he was one of the Founders of the
16 Fourth of July Committee; and
17 WHEREAS, A loving husband, father, and grandfather,
18 Ferris Coffrin will be deeply missed by his family and
19 friends, especially his wife, Betty; his sons, Kim and Corey
20 Coffrin; his daughter, Tammy Coffrin; his daughter-in-law,
21 Elisha Coffrin; and his grandchildren, Trevor Coffrin and
22 Reece Coffrin; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
25 and regret the death of Ferris A. Coffrin and extend our
26 sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it
27 further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to his widow, Betty Coffrin.
