1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of David Johnson, Pastor of Fellowship of Christ
4 church in Arlington Heights, on Friday, February 11, 2000;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, David Johnson was born in Buffalo, Ohio; he
7 served two years in the Marine Corps before receiving a
8 bachelor's degree in advertising at Ohio State University; he
9 then spent 17 years in advertising, most of that time as an
10 account executive for Salvato & Coe Associates Inc. in
11 Columbus, Ohio; and
12 WHEREAS, In 1974, Mr. Johnson and his family moved to
13 Avon, New York, where he received a pastoral degree from the
14 Elim Bible Institute; he worked as a pastor for two years at
15 Christian Fellowship Church in Geneseo, New York, before he
16 was transferred in 1978 to Arlington Heights where he became
17 pastor of Fellowship of Christ, a non-denominational church
18 that was located in his home; and
19 WHEREAS, In 1988, Mr. Johnson bought Applied Concrete
20 Technology, Inc., a concrete products manufacturer in
21 Arlington Heights, and he served as the company's president
22 while continuing his pastor duties; and
23 WHEREAS, The passing of Pastor David T. Johnson will be
24 deeply felt by his family and friends, especially his wife,
25 Sandra; his son, David, Jr.; his daughters, Andrea and Emily;
26 his granddaughter; and his brother, Kenneth; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
29 and regret the death of Pastor David T. Johnson and extend
30 our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it
31 further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to his widow, Sandra Johnson.
