1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Derrick M. Munos of Aurora on Saturday,
4 September 18, 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, He was a wood shop and technology teacher for
6 the past twelve years at Washington Middle School in Aurora;
7 he also was head coach for the Washington Middle School and
8 the Blackhawk Wrestling Club; and
9 WHEREAS, He was born on February 14, 1963, the son of
10 Yearmo and Ola Mae Munos; and
11 WHEREAS, He earned his Master's Degree in Education
12 Administration from Aurora University; as an undergraduate at
13 Northern Michigan University, he was a two time All-American
14 Wrestler and national championship runner-up; and
15 WHEREAS, He was able to instill his motto of "No Option"
16 to many young people; living life to its maximum capacity
17 100% of the time was his goal; and
18 WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father and
19 brother, Robert; and
20 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family,
21 friends, and students, especially his wife, Shawn; his twin
22 daughters, Marin and Jordan; his mother, Ola Mae Munos; and
23 his siblings, Jerry Johnson, Marguerite Johnson-Wilson,
24 Arthur Munos, Harry Munos, Audwin Munos, and Francesca
25 Rhoades; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
27 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
28 and regret the death of Derrick M. Munos and extend our
29 sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it
30 further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to his widow, Shawn Munos.
