1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Diane Irene Lauzen of Aurora on March 23,
4 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, She was born in Wilmette on February 13, 1937,
6 the daughter of Karl and Irene Knobel; she attended New Trier
7 High School and Miami of Ohio University in Oxford, Ohio; and
8 WHEREAS, Her first job after college was as a legal
9 secretary for the law firm of Lord, Bissell and Brooke; she
10 worked there until she married Leo G. Lauzen in 1965; and
11 WHEREAS, She enjoyed family time, crafts, tennis, skiing,
12 swimming, and painting; she was a national award-winning
13 member of the Colored Pencil Society of America; and
14 WHEREAS, She had a fantastic sense of humor; her life was
15 devoted to making those she loved happy; and
16 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family
17 and friends, especially her husband, Leo; her son and
18 daughter, Leo and Laura; her son-in-law, Keith Browning; her
19 grandson, Jeremy; her stepchildren, David (Sue Ann), Sarah,
20 Martha, and Senator Chris Lauzen (Sarah); her sister, Janice;
21 her brothers, Peter and Paul; her sisters-in-law, Loretta and
22 Cathie Knobel; and her very special companion, Megan;
23 therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
26 and regret the death of Diane I. Lauzen and wish to extend
27 our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and be it
28 further
29 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
30 presented to her husband, Leo G. Lauzen, and family members.
