 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 962

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 962  by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section  5.  The Workers' Compensation Act is amended by
 5    changing Section 30 as follows:

 6        (820 ILCS 305/30) (from Ch. 48, par. 138.30)
 7        Sec. 30. The provisions of this Act regarding relating to
 8     self-insurance and the  rules  and  regulations  promulgated
 9    hereunder  shall not be construed to be a limitation upon the
10    powers of self-insurance granted to the State  and  units  of
11    local government and school districts by Article VII, Section
12    1  of  the  Illinois  Constitution  or by statute, nor to any
13    governmental entity so designated by the legislature.

15        Section 10.  The Workers' Occupational  Diseases  Act  is
16    amended by changing Section 18 as follows:

17        (820 ILCS 310/18) (from Ch. 48, par. 172.53)
18        Sec.  18.  All  questions  arising under this Act, if not
19    settled by agreement of  the  interested  parties  interested
20    therein,  shall,  except as otherwise provided, be determined
