1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor Ronald W. Pavlock, Chief
4 of Police of Mount Prospect, Illinois, upon his retirement on
5 January 15, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Ronald Pavlock received his Bachelor of Arts
7 degree from the University of Minnesota in 1973; he was a
8 member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Bush Leadership Fellows
9 Program, and was a guest scholar at the Brookings
10 Institution; and
11 WHEREAS, Ronald Pavlock received additional education at
12 Syracuse University's Maxwell School, John F. Kennedy School
13 of Government, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and
14 WHEREAS, Ronald Pavlock began his law enforcement career
15 in 1964, working with the Golden Valley, Minnesota police
16 department as a police officer; in 1968 he became a police
17 sergeant, serving in that role until 1975; from 1975 to 1977
18 he worked as assistant director of public safety in Golden
19 Valley, and from 1977 to 1981 he worked as the director of
20 public safety in Woodridge, Illinois; in 1981 he moved to
21 Mount Prospect, Illinois and began his career as the Chief of
22 Police; and
23 WHEREAS, In addition to his duties as Police Chief of
24 Mount Prospect, Ronald Pavlock has served as a current and
25 past instructor on subjects ranging from public safety to
26 gang awareness and prevention; and
27 WHEREAS, Ronald Pavlock currently serves as the past
28 president of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police;
29 and
30 WHEREAS, Ronald Pavlock will be enjoying his retirement
31 with his wife, Rena; and his children, Susan and Scott;

1 therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 we congratulate Ronald Pavlock on his upcoming retirement and
5 wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors; and be
6 it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to Ronald Pavlock.
