1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is with great respect that the members of the
3 Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Mrs.
4 Marian Soelle of Bourbonnais for her hard work and dedication
5 to being a volunteer; and
6 WHEREAS, Mrs. Marian Soelle turned ninety on October 19,
7 2000; in 1993 she retired from her position as a circuit
8 court reporter in Kankakee; and
9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Soelle has a degree from the University of
10 Vermont and is a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School in
11 New York where she learned to be a secretary and
12 administrative assistant; and
13 WHEREAS, After her retirement Mrs. Soelle began
14 volunteering, first at her church, St. Pauls's Episcopal
15 Church, and then in her community; she was nominated in the
16 spring of 2000 for a Volunteer of the Year award in the
17 category of religious and spiritual volunteer by the Junior
18 League of Kankakee County; and
19 WHEREAS, She is active in Zonta, where she received the
20 Zonta Service Award in 1988; she is active in the Kankakee
21 County Historical Society, Twigs, and volunteers at Riverside
22 Medical Center; and
23 WHEREAS, Mrs. Soelle is a member of the National
24 Shorthand Reporters Association, is a charter member of the
25 National Secretaries Association, and in 1985 was honored by
26 the Kankakee Business and Professional Women's Club as an
27 outstanding professional woman; Mrs. Soelle also finds time
28 to sing with the Kankakee Symphony Chorus; and
29 WHEREAS, Mrs. Soelle is the proud mother of Patricia and
30 Doug; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we congratulate Mrs. Marian Soelle on a job well done; her
4 life of volunteerism is an example to others; and be it
5 further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to Mrs. Marian Soelle.
