1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Peter Perricone, who passed away on
5 June 6, 2000; and
6 WHEREAS, Peter Perricone was born on September 4, 1950 in
7 Chicago, Illinois; and
8 WHEREAS, Peter F. Perricone graduated in 1968 from Holy
9 Cross High School in River Grove, Illinois; he entered the
10 United States Marine Corps in 1968, where he served in
11 Vietnam and Okinawa; during his time of service, he was
12 promoted to Sergeant at 19 years of age; and
13 WHEREAS, Peter F. Perricone was President of Vista
14 Services from 1971 until his death; he was a member of the
15 Illinois Automatic Merchandising Council from 1973 through
16 2000; it was in this office that he earned many distinctions
17 such as: Public Relations Chairman in 1984, Annual Meeting
18 Chairman from 1984 through 1986, Governor from 1987 through
19 2000, Officer from 1991 through 1996, Recognition of
20 Outstanding Achievements as Treasurer in 1993, Recognition of
21 Outstanding Achievements as Vice President in 1994,
22 Recognition of Outstanding Achievements as President in 1995
23 and 1996, and recipient of the Elmer Keukes Award for
24 Dedication to the Industry in 1998; he earned the Award of
25 Dedication and Leadership in 1999, the Award of Service and
26 Leadership as Member of the Board of Governors in 1998, and
27 the National Automatic Merchandising Association "Chairman's
28 Award" for Legislative Success in 1999; and
29 WHEREAS, Peter F. Perricone led a life of outstanding
30 merit that included recognition from Elk Grove High School
31 Cooperative Education for "Outstanding Service in Training",
32 DuPage County Childrens Center, Ridgewood High School

1 Cooperative Education for "Cooperative and Guidance of
2 Students", DuPage County Childrens Center's "Vintage Cars and
3 Rods Award", Juvenile Diabetes Foundation's "Ron Santo Walk
4 for the Cure" and "Silver Level of Achievement Award", the
5 Knights of Columbus Merit Award from the Holy Ghost Church
6 St. Joseph Table for "Recognition and Appreciation of
7 Services": and by the Girl Scouts Illinois Crossroads Council
8 for "Special Recognition of Outstanding Service and
9 Dedication"; and
10 WHEREAS, The passing of Peter F. Perricone will be deeply
11 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife,
12 Cathy; his son, Peter; his daughter, Sara (husband, John)
13 Giamarusti; his granddaughter, Mia; his father, Sam C.; and
14 his brothers, Sam M. and Michael; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Peter F.
18 Perricone of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois; and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the family of Peter F. Perricone.
