1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere sympathy to the
4 family and friends of Matthew Louis Moore, Jr.,
5 affectionately known as Cool Breeze, of Chicago, Illinois,
6 who recently passed away; and
7 WHEREAS, Matthew Moore was born in Chicago, Illinois, on
8 January 31, 1942, the son of Virgie and Matthew Moore, Sr.;
9 he was educated in the Chicago public schools, beginning at
10 Shakespeare Elementary School; and
11 WHEREAS, Matthew Moore attended St. John Baptist Church,
12 where he accepted Christ at an early age; his
13 great-grandfather, William N. Talley, was a founding member
14 of the church; and
15 WHEREAS, Matthew Moore was a long time member of Rainbow
16 Coalition Operation Push, where he was a dedicated member of
17 the choir, and served on the board of directors; his favorite
18 songs were "Sincerely" and "Amazing Grace"; he enjoyed
19 dancing and being with his family and friends; and
20 WHEREAS, Matthew Louis Moore, Jr. is survived by his
21 loving companion, Carol Williams; his daughter, Stephanie
22 Greene; his brothers, Richard Chappell and Donald Moore and
23 his wife, Sabrina; his sisters, Estelle Flagg and Jeanette
24 Smith; his grandchildren, Victorian, David, Milachi, and
25 Daniel; his great-grandchildren, Demitrius and David, Jr.;
26 his uncle, Virgil Greene and his wife, Debbie; his great
27 aunt, Virgie T. Samuels; and many nieces, nephews, relatives,
28 and friends; therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
31 we mourn the death of Matthew Louis Moore, Jr.; may all that

1 knew him find comfort at this time; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Matthew Louis Moore, Jr.
