1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House were saddened to learn
3 of the death of E. L. "Bo" Johnson of Lake Forest on January
4 10, 2000; and
5 WHEREAS, He was the son of the late Charles and Gladys
6 Spellman Johnson; he was also preceded in death by his
7 sisters, Barbara Johnson Gresham and Nancy Johnson Sullivan;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, He was a combat veteran of the United States
10 Marine Corps during World War II, proudly serving with the
11 1st Marine Division and earning two Purple Heart Medals for
12 injuries sustained in battle on the island of Okinawa in June
13 of 1945; he was honored for his military service with a
14 United States Marine Corps honor guard and full military
15 honors at his burial at Lake Forest Cemetery; and
16 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
17 and friends, especially his wife, Patricia Olson Johnson; his
18 children, Chuck Johnson, Cheryl MacCarty, Christine Johnson,
19 Bruce Johnson, David Johnson, and Sheila O'Neill; his
20 daughters-in-law, Laura and Sue Johnson; his sons-in-law,
21 Jack MacCarty and Mike O'Neill; his thirteen grandchildren;
22 his two step-grandchildren; his one step-great-grandchild;
23 his sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and George Evans; and
24 his aunt, Billie Spellman Anderson; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we note with sorrow and regret the death of E. L. "Bo"
28 Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to his family and
29 friends; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to his widow, Patricia Olson Johnson.
