1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, This Body is extremely grateful and proud of
3 those citizens who assume great personal risk to save the
4 lives of other citizens; and
5 WHEREAS, On March 9, 1999, the North Chicago Fire
6 Department responded to a house fire at 3016 20th Place in
7 North Chicago; and
8 WHEREAS, Arriving units reported heavy smoke and fire
9 showing; residents stated that two children were trapped in
10 the basement; and
11 WHEREAS, Commander Doug Henderson and Paid-On-Call
12 Firefighter August Hibel, without hesitation and regardless
13 of danger, braved the treacherous fire to rescue the two
14 small children from the basement of the dwelling; and
15 WHEREAS, Without doubt, Commander Doug Henderson and
16 Paid-On-Call Firefighter August Hibel can truly be called
17 heroes for they took great personal risk without question or
18 concern for their own safety to save the lives of the
19 children; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we offer our most sincere appreciation to Commander Doug
23 Henderson and Paid-On-Call Firefighter August Hibel for their
24 heroic efforts to save the lives of the children; and be it
25 further
26 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
27 presented to Commander Doug Henderson and Paid-On-Call
28 Firefighter August Hibel.
