1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives wish to
3 congratulate Nathel Elmina Lauridsen on her 85th birthday
4 celebration; and
5 WHEREAS, Nathel Elmina Lauridsen was born in Enid,
6 Oklahoma, on November 26, 1912; her parents were Robert and
7 Leona Holland; Nathel was the oldest girl of eight children;
8 when she was three years old, Nathel traveled by covered
9 wagon to her grandparents homestead in Eminence, Missouri;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, Nathel Lauridsen attended schools in Enid,
12 Oklahoma; she moved to Morris, Illinois to work as a
13 housekeeper and married Emil Lauridsen on March 3, 1934;
14 together, they moved to Chicago's southside to find better
15 employment; for over thirty years, Nathel worked in factory
16 jobs; and
17 WHEREAS, Nathel Lauridsen moved to Braidwood, Illinois,
18 in 1976, where she is spending her retirement years; she is a
19 charter member of the Braidwood Lioness Club, where she has
20 been active for fifteen years; Nathel also volunteers at the
21 Kerri Lyons Child Care Center as an adopted grandmother; and
22 WHEREAS, Nathel Lauridsen is the mother of three
23 children, grandmother to four; and great-grandmother to six;
24 she has always given others a home when they needed a place
25 to stay throughout her long life; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
28 congratulate Nathel Lauridsen on her special day; and be it
29 further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Nathel Lauridsen, along with our sincere
