(225 ILCS 106/30) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2031) Sec. 30. Powers and duties of the Department. Subject to the provision of this Act, the Department may: (a) Authorize examinations to ascertain the |
| qualifications and fitness of an applicant for licensure as a respiratory care practitioner.

(b) Pass upon the qualifications of an applicant for
|
| licensure by endorsement.
|
|
(c) Conduct hearings on proceedings to refuse to
|
| issue, renew, or revoke a license or to suspend, place on probation, or reprimand a license issued or applied for under this Act.
|
|
(d) Formulate rules required for the administration
|
| of this Act. Notice of proposed rulemaking shall be transmitted to the Board, and the Department shall review the Board's response and any recommendations made in the response.
|
|
(e) Solicit the advice and expert knowledge of the
|
| Board on any matter relating to the administration and enforcement of this Act.
