(70 ILCS 3615/2.11.10) (This Section may contain text from a Public Act with a delayed effective date) Sec. 2.11.10. Vote on sworn officer crime prevention program. (a) Within 1 year after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 104th General Assembly, the Authority shall vote to implement a sworn law enforcement officer crime prevention program on public transportation and a crime prevention plan to protect public transportation employees and riders in the metropolitan region. (b) The strategy to be implemented using sworn law enforcement to respond to crime on public transportation in the metropolitan region and to protect public transportation employees and riders shall be approved by a supermajority vote. In taking this vote, the Board shall consider recommendations provided by the NITA Law Enforcement Task Force, findings from the Coordinated Safety Council's report on the feasibility, advisability, and necessity of the program, and recommendations from the Safety Subcommittee. (c) Within 60 days of the vote to implement a sworn law enforcement officer crime prevention program on public transportation and a crime prevention plan to protect public transportation employees and riders in the metropolitan region, the Office of Transit Safety and Experience shall develop an Operational Plan to implement the selected strategy. The Operational Plan shall include the steps and schedule for transitioning from the Task Force to the sworn law enforcement officer crime prevention program on public transportation and the crime prevention plan to protect public transportation employees and riders in the metropolitan region.
