(50 ILCS 475/5-35)

Sec. 5-35. Approval of STAR bond projects in NOVA districts. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, a STAR bond project may be approved within each STAR bond district designated as a NOVA district. Except as otherwise provided in this Act, approval of a NOVA district shall follow the same procedures applicable to STAR bond district approval as provided in Section 5-20, and that designation shall be determined by the Office of the Governor during the STAR bond district approval process. The NOVA district must satisfy the criteria set forth to be considered a NOVA district under Section 5-10. Except as otherwise provided in this Act, establishment of a NOVA district shall be construed to have the same application and effect as a STAR bond district.
