SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Mary K. Katris of Waukegan, who passed 
4away on December 5, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Katris was born to Pelayia and Nicholas Kanel 
6on October 4, 1928; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Mary Katris was an active member of the St. 
8Demetrios Philoptochos Society for many years; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Mary Katris was a treasured Godmother, aunt, 
10cousin, friend, honorary mother, and grandmother to many; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Katris was preceded in death by her parents; 
12her husband, James G. Katris; and her brother, Peter Kanel; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Mary Katris is survived by her sons, George and 
14Peter (Mary); therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
17Mary K. Katris, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
