| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Velma M. Ambrose of Carlinville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 3, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was born in West Memphis, Arkansas |
| 6 | | to Homer and Jessie Paris Harding on January 1, 1920; she |
| 7 | | graduated from Scottville High School in 1938 and married Coy |
| 8 | | Wayne Ambrose in Bowling Green, Missouri on February 17, 1943; |
| 9 | | and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose helped prepare taxes in the |
| 11 | | Scottville area for many years; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was a longtime 4-H leader and taught |
| 13 | | many area youngsters how to sew; she enjoyed painting, sewing, |
| 14 | | and spending time with her family; she was active in the Home |
| 15 | | Extension Project for several years; she was a member of the |
| 16 | | Scottville Christian Church; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was preceded in death by her |
| 18 | | husband, Coy; her parents; her sister, Elden Patterson; and two |
| 19 | | brothers; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose is survived by her daughter, Janet |
