SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Karl N. Schmidt of McHenry, who passed 
4away on September 20, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Karl Schmidt was born on December 15, 1932 in 
6Sheboygan, Wisconsin; his parents were Edwin and Margret 
7Schmidt; he married Zofia Strojna on November 30, 1985 at St. 
8Mary Church in McHenry; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Karl Schmidt served in the United States Army from 
101953 to 1967 and was stationed in Vietnam, Japan, and Germany; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Karl Schmidt worked at the Lakeshore Country Club 
13in Glencoe for 34 years; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Karl Schmidt was a member of St. Mary Catholic 
15Church in McHenry for 30 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Karl Schmidt enjoyed traveling, boating, being 
17outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Karl Schmidt was preceded in death by his parents 
19and his brothers, Roger and Edwin Jr.; and

1    WHEREAS, Karl Schmidt is survived by his loving wife, 
2Zofia; his sisters, Carol (Al) Udovich and Joanne Hinze; and 
3many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Karl N. Schmidt; and 
7be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Karl Schmidt as an expression of our 
10sympathy.
