SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Bob C. Jensen of Moline, who passed away 
4on October 18, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Jensen was born on September 7, 1927 in 
6Walcott; his parents were John and Lulu Beinke Jensen; he 
7married Vernette Ogden on November 26, 1948 at First United 
8Presbyterian Church in Moline; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Jensen served in the United States Navy during 
10World War II; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Bob Jensen worked in the accounting field for more 
12than 60 years at many local businesses, such as Erickson 
13Construction, Freed Heating, Ametek, and others; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Bob Jensen served First United Presbyterian 
15Church as an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher, and building 
16fund treasurer; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bob Jensen played softball for 60 years; he was 
18also a member of the barbershop Bend of the River Chorus for 
19more than 30 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Jensen was preceded in death by his parents 
2and three sisters; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Bob Jensen is survived by his wife of 68 years, 
4Vernette; his children, Brian (Peggy) Jensen and Kathy (Brian) 
5Ware; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; 
6therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Bob C. Jensen; and be 
10it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Bob Jensen as an expression of our 
13sympathy.
