| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Donald J. Chopp; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Donald Chopp dedicated his life to his family and |
| 5 | | to causes he believed in, including Catholic education and |
| 6 | | community outreach; he served on school boards for St. Hugh, |
| 7 | | St. Cletus, and Nazareth Academy; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Donald Chopp belonged to Congregation of St. |
| 9 | | Joseph as an associate; he served as a Catholic minister of |
| 10 | | care; he also championed interfaith refugee resettlement |
| 11 | | through New Hope Connection; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Donald Chopp was the beloved husband of 55 years |
| 13 | | of Marylin (Tyce); the loving father of Catherine (James) |
| 14 | | Hinckley, Daniel (Maureen) Chopp, David Chopp, and Patricia |
| 15 | | (Arthur) Keegan; the loving grandfather of Claire, Danielle, |
| 16 | | Jack, John, Thomas, and Anna; the fond brother of Carol and |
| 17 | | Jean Chopp; and uncle and friend to many; therefore, be it
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 20 | | Donald J. Chopp, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 21 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
