SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George W. "Judd" Hendricks of Champaign, who passed away on June 6, 2016; and

WHEREAS, George Hendricks was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Dr. Paul Knox and Zella Rachel Hendricks on April 17, 1928; he attended junior college and moved to Brainerd, Minnesota; he married Edith Mattie Tollefson on September 1, 1950; he served two years in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, After being honorably discharged, George Hendricks attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan; in 1959, he was hired by the Northwestern National Life Insurance Company (NWNL); for the next 45 years, he worked in both management and sales, eventually relocating to Champaign in 1965, where he established a new office; he remained with the NWNL until his retirement in 2004; and

WHEREAS, George Hendricks was preceded in death by a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; three nieces; and a nephew; and

WHEREAS, George Hendricks is survived by his wife of 65 years, Edith; his sons, Michael (Janet), Brian (Carol), Brad (Joni), and Tom (Lori); his grandchildren, Rachel (Collin) Corcoran, Greta (Scott) Natkow, and Jenna, Jacob, Bart, and Heather Hendricks; his three great-grandchildren, Donovan, Angela, and William Judd; and his six siblings, Elwyn (Joyce), Paul (Delores), Deane (Doloris), Dwaine, Maurine, and Sharon (John); therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George W. "Judd" Hendricks, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Hendricks as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
