SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jeffery P. Leonard of Moline, who passed 
4away on March 15, 2016; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeffery Leonard was born in Rockford to Paul and 
6Edna Carol Albright Leonard on September 10, 1956; he served in 
7the United States Army as a Military Police Officer and 
8received his Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois 
9University; he married Diane Bohms in Lyndon on May 25, 1985; 
10and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jeffery Leonard served as a Moline Police Officer 
12for 29 years, retiring in February of 2014; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Jeffery Leonard was an avid reader; he enjoyed 
14going to the movies and spending time with his grandchildren; 
15and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Jeffery Leonard is survived by his wife, Diane; 
17his daughters, Monica (Morgan) Harris and Julie Leonard; his 
18son, Scott Leonard; his grandchildren, Morgan, Jr. and Micah; 
19his sisters, Jan (Rich) Hillig and Barbara (Marvin) Strickland; 
20and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Jeffery P. Leonard, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Jeffery Leonard as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
