SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Brenda Kay Bertels, who passed away on 
4December 16, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Brenda Bertels was born on October 17, 1958 in 
6Alton to Eugene and Dolores (nee Perry) Bertels; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Brenda Bertels graduated from Bunker Hill High 
8School and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Brenda Bertels was a member of Christ Greenfield 
10Lutheran Church in Arizona; she belonged to Clowns for Christ, 
11taught Vacation Bible School, and enjoyed cross stitching, 
12reading, baseball, and animals; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Brenda Bertels was preceded in death by her 
14grandparents, Roy and Verna Bertels and Harlan and Zona Perry; 
15and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Brenda Bertels is survived by her parents; her 
17brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Janice Bertels; her nieces 
18and nephews, Mark Easley, Cindy (Ben) Smith, Paula (Joe) 
19Strahmann, and Jason Easley; her aunt, Margie Homm; her uncle, 
20Richard (Pat) Perry; and her cousins, Marsha (Jeff) Vore, Myrna

3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
5family and friends, mourn the passing of Brenda Kay Bertels; 
6and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Brenda Bertels as an expression of 
9our sympathy.
