SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Thomas "Wickie" Roy of Paxton, who passed 
4away on November 22, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Roy was born in Tolono on December 21, 1943 
6to Thomas E. and Dorthy Wilson Roy; he attended
Paxton schools 
7and served in the United States Army as a mortar gunner in 
8Korea; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Thomas Roy was a heavy equipment operator for 47 
10years and belonged to Operating Engineers, Local 841; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Roy was affiliated with the First Baptist 
12Church SCB in Paxton and was a member of the I & I Tractor Club; 
13he spent
his life working with and showing draft mules, barrel 
14racing, and doing anything and everything that had to do with 
15horses; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Thomas Roy was preceded in death by his parents 
17and 2 brothers; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Thomas Roy is survived by his 2 sons, Michael 
19(Cathy) Roy and Damon (Sara) Roy; his 2 grandsons,
Colt and 
20Brett; his 3 sisters, Kathie (Jerry) Houser, Deborah Roy-Payne,

1and Karren Bussey;  and his 2 brothers, Murie (Elona) Roy and 
2Rex (Linda) Roy; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Thomas "Wickie" Roy, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Thomas Roy as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
