SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Stella A. Sallie, who passed away on 
4October 31, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Stella Sallie was born in Joliet and was a 
6lifelong resident; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Stella Sallie was a graduate of Lewis University 
8and a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Stella Sallie served as an educator to many at 
10Gompers Junior High School and Joliet West High School; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Stella Sallie was preceded in death by her 
12parents; her son; and her brother; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Stella Sallie is survived by her daughter, Leanne 
14Linder; her grandson, Keenan Linder; her sister-in-law, Lita 
15Holmes; her niece, Stacia Brown; her nephew, Douglas Holmes; 
16and her many cousins, other family members, and friends; 
17therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her

1family and friends, mourn the passing of Stella A. Sallie; and 
2be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of Stella Sallie as an expression of 
5our sympathy.
