| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William Elmer Lee Nickell of Hampton, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 15, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Nickell was born in Lineville, Iowa on |
| 6 | | November 12, 1931 to Bertie and Ellen (nee Davis) Nickell; he |
| 7 | | spent the first half of his life in the Mercer, Missouri and |
| 8 | | the Lineville, Iowa areas; he served in the United States Army; |
| 9 | | he married Joan Fair, and they had 2 daughters, Linda Lea and |
| 10 | | Deborah Miann; he later married Diane Neely and gained 3 |
| 11 | | step-children, Michael, Debbie, and Robert; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, William Nickell worked at Hy-Vee and owned the |
| 13 | | service station in Mercer; he eventually retired from J.I. |
| 14 | | Case; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, William Nickell had a love of yard mowing and |
| 16 | | always had a huge garden and loved sharing his bounty; he was |
| 17 | | an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, William Nickell was preceded in death by his |
| 19 | | mother; his father; his sister, Lannie; his brother, J.B.; his |
| 20 | | first wife, Joan; his second wife, Diane; his stepson, Mike; |
| 21 | | and his daughter, Linda Lea; and
