SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Timothy Lee "Tim" Ruddy of Normal, who 
4passed away on October 1, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Tim Ruddy  was born in Joliet on November 1, 1947 
6to Raymond and Anna Mae Ostrem Ruddy; he  graduated from Marmion 
7Academy, a military high school in Aurora; he attended the 
8University of South Carolina for his undergraduate degree and 
9Northern Illinois University for his master's degree; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Tim Ruddy  became a professor of political science; 
11he joined the staff of Illinois State University in the late 
121980s; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Tim Ruddy  enjoyed listening to Otis Redding, 
14watching Casablanca (or any Bogart film), satisfying his sweet 
15tooth, and taking in his daily dose of politics; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Tim Ruddy  was preceded in death by his parents and 
17his brother, Richard Ruddy; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Tim Ruddy  is survived by his sister, Marianne 
19(Don) Brooks; his  children, Emily Woods, Ryan (Tara) Ruddy, and 
20Erin (Caleb Castillo) Ruddy; his 3 stepdaughters, Victoria

1(Doug Pride) Van Kirk, Heather (Joseph) Summers, and Kara 
2(David) Levin;  and his 8 grandchildren, Dylan, Madelyn, Finley, 
3Jeremiah, Isaac, Vivienne, Max, and Henry; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Timothy Lee "Tim" Ruddy, and extend our sincere condolences to 
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Tim Ruddy  as an expression of our 
11deepest sympathy.
