SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eugene "Gene" Vincent Roth, who passed away on September 11, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Roth was born August 4, 1933 in Michael; his parents were Anthony and Katherine Roth; he married Laverne Pohlman on June 2, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brussels; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Roth served his country as a member of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Following his stint in the Army, Eugene Roth worked as a machinist for Olin Matheson until his retirement in 1975; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Roth was a longtime member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey and the Alton-Wood River Sportsman's Club; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Roth was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne; his parents; his stepfather, Carl Snyders; his sister, Edna Roth; and his brother, Bill Roth; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Roth is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Cindy Roth and Tom and Jennifer Roth; his daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Dan Bolin, Deb and Jack Hoefert, and Terry and Dave Stephan; his grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Andrea Roth, Greg and Jessica Roth, Katie and Mike Dohr, Shelby Roth and Jake Roth, David and Amy Bolin, Michelle and Kenny Jamison, Chris Hoefert, Laura Hoefert (fiance, Jason Sandidge), Sarah Hoefert, Matt Stephan, and Molly Stephan; his great-grandchildren, Samantha, David, Jr., and Jonathan Bolin, KJ and Valerie Jamison, Ella and Alana Roth, Andrew, Tyler, and Caden Roth, and Brady, Alex, and Robert Dohr; and his sister-in-law, Edna Roth; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Eugene "Gene" Vincent Roth; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eugene Roth as an expression of our sympathy.
