SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Harmon Mitchell of Rockford, who passed 
4away on September 1, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harmom Mitchell graduated from East High School in 
6Rockford; he later served on the Rockford School Board for 6 
7years, guiding it through difficult periods; and
  
 
  
8    WHEREAS, Harmon Mitchell was a retired banker and community 
9advocate and volunteer; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Harmon Mitchell was a finalist  for the 2013 
11Rockford Register Star Excalibur award for outstanding 
12community service; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Harmon Mitchell attended St. Rita Catholic Church  
14and was a 3rd-degree member of the Knights of Columbus; he was 
15an avid golfer and Chicago Cubs fan; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Harmon Mitchell is survived by his wife, Diane 
17(Dal Pra); his 2 sons, Matthew and Marcus; his 2 daughters, 
18Marissa and Mary-Margaret; and his 10 grandchildren;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Harmon Mitchell, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Harmon Mitchell as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
