SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Lewis C. Schacht of Marengo, who passed 
4away on June 30, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht was born in Woodstock on June 2, 
61927 to Lewis A. and Elizabeth (nee Moritz) Schacht; he married 
7Myrna Laechelt on January 28, 1950 in Marengo and  served in the 
8United States Army from 1952 to 1954; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht served as a Marengo police officer 
10for a couple of years; he retired from Marengo Steel after 42 
11years of service; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht was a Lifetime member of the Moose 
13Lodge; he was a master at practical jokes and  a member of the 
14early breakfast club at Dino's in Marengo; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht was preceded in death by his 
16parents; his wife, Myrna Schacht; and his brother, Russell 
17Schacht; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Lewis Schacht is survived by his daughters, Cindy 
19Shadle and Sharon Moloney; his grandchildren, Liz (Mike) Vinik, 
20Katharine (Ryan Gails) Shadle, Joseph (Luciana Beach) Shadle,

1and Emmett Moloney; his siblings, Carroll Schacht and Elizabeth 
2(Cliff) Mueller; his sister-in-law, Karin Schacht; and his 
3brother-in-law, LeRoy Laechelt; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Lewis C. Schacht, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Lewis Schacht as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
