SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Martin Hedrich, Sr. of Crystal Lake, who passed away on May 8, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Martin Hedrich, Sr. was born in Liebling, Romania and emigrated to the United States in 1950; and

WHEREAS, Martin Hedrich, Sr. worked as an auto mechanic and eventually took correspondence courses in TV and radio repair, which enabled him to start his own business; and

WHEREAS, Martin Hedrich, Sr. loved to work with wood, making furniture and toys for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he was also a great photographer, poet, and writer; he also enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world; he spent many weeks at his family's cottage in Northern Wisconsin trying to catch that elusive muskie; and

WHEREAS, Martin Hedrich, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Phillipine Hedrich; his daughter-in-law, Marilyn; his sister, Phillipine Kunz; and his first great-grandson, Jacob; and

WHEREAS, Martin Hedrich, Sr. was the loving husband of 74 years to Rosina; the valued and treasured father to Marty and Lolly (John) Kroos; the loving and caring grandpa to David (Lana), Scott Kroos, Heidi, Todd (Laura) Kroos, and Tim (Noemi); and the wonderful great grandpa (Opa) to Nina, Nicole, Elizabeth, Courtney, Kari, Amanda, Justin, Austin, Bailey, Faith, Katie, Nate, and Micah; he is also survived by other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Martin Hedrich, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Martin Hedrich, Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
