SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  George Dana Obermayer of McHenry, who 
4passed away on May 7, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, George Obermayer was born on April 7, 1955 in 
6Chicago; his parents were Robert and Joan (nee Gruenler) 
7Obermayer; he married Carrie E. Martenson on April 20, 1980 at 
8Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Dundee; he was a resident of 
9McHenry since 1995; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, George Obermayer was the owner and operator of 
11McHenry Muffler in Lakemoor for over 30 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, George Obermayer enjoyed spending time with his 
13family, drag racing, and Chicago sports, especially the Chicago 
14Bears; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, George Obermayer was preceded in death by his 
16father; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, George Obermayer is survived by his wife of 35 
18years, Carrie; 2 children, Dirk (Erin Phillips) Obermayer and 
19Kiersten (Kent Rexford) Obermayer; 2 grandchildren, Cage and 
20Averly; his mother, Joan; a brother, Robin "Rob" (Roxanne)

1Obermayer; and a nephew, Nicholas; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
4family and friends, mourn the passing of George Dana Obermayer; 
5and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of George Obermayer as an expression of 
8our sympathy.
