SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Sherry Murray Coleman of North Chicago, 
4who passed away on April 8, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Sherry Coleman was born in Chicago to Leonard, Sr. 
6and Ruth Murff; she was educated in Chicago public schools and 
7attended the College of Lake County; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Sherry Coleman retired from Searle 
9Pharmaceuticals as an administrative assistant; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Sherry Coleman was a member of Sign of the Dove 
11Church; she served on the S.O.D. Advisory Council and  as a 
12member of School Board #187; she worked alongside Mayor Leon 
13Rockingham, Patricia Jones, and the late Senator Eddie 
14Washington on the Coalition to Reduce Recidivism; and
  
 
  
15    WHEREAS, Sherry Coleman is survived by her husband, Ronald 
16Coleman; her son, Sean Dawson Murray; her grandson, Jaiden 
17Dawson; and her siblings, Leonard Murff, Jr., Denise 
18Murff-Butler, and  Latriese Murff-Guyton(Waverly); therefore, 
19be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Sherry Murray Coleman, and extend our sincere condolences to 
3her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Sherry Coleman as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
