| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The College and Career Success for All Students |
| 5 | | Act is amended by changing Section 30 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 302/30) |
| 7 | | Sec. 30. Postsecondary-level Examination; |
| 8 | | postsecondary-level course credit. |
| 9 | | (a) In this Section: , "institution |
| 10 | | "Institution of higher education" means a public |
| 11 | | university or public community college located in this State. |
| 12 | | "International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject" |
| 13 | | means an International Baccalaureate course taken by either |
| 14 | | International Baccalaureate diploma candidates or by |
| 15 | | International Baccalaureate course candidates. |
| 16 | | "Subject score" means the total points awarded to a |
| 17 | | candidate for an International Baccalaureate course based on |
| 18 | | fulfillment of all subject requirements, including the |
| 19 | | end-of-course examination. |
| 20 | | (b) Beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year, scores of |
| 21 | | 3, 4, and 5 on the College Board Advanced Placement |
| 22 | | examinations and, beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year, |
| 23 | | subject scores of 4 or higher for International Baccalaureate |

| 1 | | Diploma Programme subjects shall be accepted for credit to |
| 2 | | satisfy degree requirements by all institutions of higher |
| 3 | | education. Each institution of higher education shall |
| 4 | | determine for each Advanced Placement test and International |
| 5 | | Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject whether credit will be |
| 6 | | granted for electives, general education requirements, or |
| 7 | | major requirements and the Advanced Placement and |
| 8 | | International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject scores |
| 9 | | required to grant credit for those purposes. |
| 10 | | (c) By the conclusion of the 2020-2021 2019-2020 academic |
| 11 | | year, the Board of Higher Education, in cooperation with the |
| 12 | | Illinois Community College Board, shall analyze the Advanced |
| 13 | | Placement examination and International Baccalaureate Diploma |
| 14 | | Programme subject score course granting policy of each |
| 15 | | institution of higher education and the research used by each |
| 16 | | institution in determining the level of credit and the number |
| 17 | | of credits provided for the Advanced Placement and |
| 18 | | International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme subject scores |
| 19 | | in accordance with the requirements of this Section and file a |
| 20 | | report that includes findings and recommendations to the |
| 21 | | General Assembly and the Governor. Each institution of higher |
| 22 | | education shall provide the Board of Higher Education and the |
| 23 | | Illinois Community College Board with all necessary data, in |
| 24 | | accordance with the federal Family Educational Rights and |
| 25 | | Privacy Act of 1974, to conduct the analysis. |
| 26 | | (d) Each institution of higher education shall publish its |
