HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The motto of the Village of Evergreen Park is 
3"Village of Churches"; the Village welcomes and enjoys the 
4presence of many congregations of various religious 
5denominations; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In 1941, Archbishop Samuel Stritch granted Father 
7Louis Briody the authority to establish the Parish of the Most 
8Holy Redeemer; from a small wooden church, Father Briody, as 
9Pastor, presided over the significant growth of the Parish; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Succeeding Father Briody, Monsignor Hayes and 
11Fathers Franzen, Devine, Dempsey, Foley, and Hyland have led 
12the congregation of the Parish of the Most Holy Redeemer in 
13prayer and worship; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Parish School has served students and 
15exemplary academic instruction and a strong grounding in faith 
16and morals; and

  
 
17    WHEREAS, Many families and individuals have supported and 
18stewarded the parish to its place of prominence in the Village; 
19many members who identify as parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer 
20desire to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its founding; 
21therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate the Parish of the Most Holy Redeemer on the 
4occasion of its 75th anniversary and wish them continued 
5success and happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the Parish of the Most Holy Redeemer as a symbol 
8of our esteem and respect.
