HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to thank the members of the Raymond-Harvel 
4Fire Department for educating students on Fire Prevention 
5Safety and for responding to what could have been a deadly 
6situation on December 11, 2015; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, During fire prevention week training provided by 
8Raymond Grade School and members of
the Raymond-Harvel Fire 
9Department, Kenneth Hobson was provided with information that 
10would later
help save his family's lives; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Raymond-Harvel Fire Department covers 126 
12square miles and are responsible for the villages of Raymond

13and Harvel; the firefighters teach local students, like Kenneth 
14Hobson, how to prevent fires from occurring as well
as what to 
15do in the case of a fire emergency during "Fire Prevention 
16Week" in October; during "Fire Prevention Week", fire drills 
17accompany the fire safety information that is
provided; and
 
18    WHEREAS, On December 11, 2015, the Raymond-Harvel Fire 
19Department responded to a call at 5:01 A.M.; 20
members of the 
20Department were on the scene of the fire until 6:57 A.M.; and

  
 
21    WHEREAS, Approximately 20 volunteer members were on the

1scene of the house fire at Kenneth
Hobson's home, out of a 
2total of 30 volunteer firefighters on the roster at the 
3Raymond-Harvel Fire Department; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, The Raymond-Harvel Fire Department's estimated 
5response time was 3 or 4 minutes and their
Department also 
6assists neighboring communities when needed; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Raymond-Harvel Fire Department's Chief is 
8Danny McCallum; Greg Holder is the Raymond Captain and Jim 
9Clayton is
the Harvel Captain; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Raymond-Harvel Fire Department is a member of 
11the 3M Firefighter's Association and
MABAS #56; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Raymond-Harvel Fire Department worked 
13quickly, efficiently, and flawlessly when responding to a house 
14fire
that could have ended tragically; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
16NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
17honor and thank the members of the Raymond-Harvel Fire 
18Department for their heroic actions and wish them the best in 
19the future; and be it further
  
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

2our great respect and esteem.
