| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives is honored |
| 3 | | to recognize Ashley Aldridge of
Auburn for risking her life to |
| 4 | | save Earl Moorman after his motorized scooter became stuck at a
|
| 5 | | railroad crossing as an oncoming train approached; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The incident occurred at the Washington Street |
| 7 | | railroad crossing as Ashley Aldridge
was making lunch for her 2 |
| 8 | | children; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ashley Aldridge saw Earl Moorman stopped on the |
| 10 | | tracks and heard him calling for
help; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ashley Aldridge heard the railroad crossing arms |
| 12 | | begin to go down and ran to the
crossing to assist; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Ashley Aldridge was able to pull Earl Moorman out |
| 14 | | of his scooter and clear of the
tracks moments before the train |
| 15 | | passed the crossing; therefore, be it
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 17 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 18 | | honor the heroic efforts of
Ashley Aldridge and thank her for |
| 19 | | her quick action in saving the life of Earl
Moorman; and be it |
