HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the 25th anniversary of the 
4Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS); and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, SBHS has been providing mental health treatment to 
6the Chicagoland community and the State of Illinois since 1991; 
7it is dedicated to offering services that provide hope  and 
8meeting the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare 
9needs of children, adolescents, young adults, and their 
10families;
it is the first free-standing child, adolescent, and 
11young adult behavioral healthcare facility in the State of 
12Illinois and its sole focus is  on child, adolescent, and young 
13adult mental healthcare; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, SBHS's treatment philosophy is to provide 
15treatment that is individualized and provides individuals and 
16families with a sense of hope; it  fosters hope by strengthening 
17the individual's social skills and interpersonal 
18relationships; a clear treatment and transitional plan is 
19developed using existing emotional, behavioral, and social 
20resources in conjunction with those resources deemed healthy 
21and supportive at home, at school, and within the community; 
22behavioral management techniques, along with choices in 
23programming and therapeutic tools, are key treatment

1components encouraging feelings of personal empowerment and 
2responsibility;  treating the whole person, including family, 
3unique life situations, and personal motivation, is looked at 
4in hopes of creating a positive change; and
  
 

  
5    WHEREAS, An event will be held in celebration of SBHS's 25 
6years on September 15, 2015; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9recognize the 25th anniversary of the Streamwood Behavioral 
10Healthcare System and we wish them many more years of success; 
11and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to SBHS as an expression of our esteem and respect.
