HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Tim K. Garvey on the 
4occasion of his retirement as Chief Executive Officer of the 
5Southern Illinois Builders Association (SIBA); and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Tim Garvey began his tenure with SIBA in 1981, 
7serving as its industry affairs
director through the end of 
81990; he left the SIBA to serve as
Executive Director of the 
9Greater Peoria Contractors and Suppliers Association from 
10January of  1991 through October of 1995; he then returned to 
11the
SIBA to serve as the Director of the industry fund, the 
12Southern Illinois
Construction Advancement Program, and as the 
13SIBA Assistant
Executive Director; he was named Executive 
14Director in June of 2000 and assumed the position on January 1, 
152001; and
  
 

  
16    WHEREAS, Tim Garvey was promoted to Chief
Executive Officer 
17of the Southern Illinois Builders Association on January 1, 
182011; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Tim Garvey worked as a journalist for 10 years 
20prior to his service in the
construction industry; he holds a 
21Bachelor of Art's in Mass Communications from
Southern Illinois 
22University at Edwardsville; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate Tim K. Garvey on his retirement as Chief Executive 
4Officer of the Southern Illinois Builders Association and we 
5wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to          Tim Garvey as an expression of our esteem and 
9respect.
