HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rev. 
4Leslie H. Perkins, Sr., who passed away on June 25, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rev. Perkins  was born in Chicago on October 11, 
61941; he attended elementary school in Maywood and graduated 
7from Proviso East High School; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Rev. Perkins  retired from the postal service in 
9January of 2013; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Rev. Perkins  was an ordained minister under the 
11leadership of Rev. H. McNealty of 1st Baptist Church of Melrose 
12Park over 40 years ago; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, Rev. Perkins is survived by his  wife, the 
14Honorable Mayor Edwenna Perkins; his 3 children, Anita 
15Perkins-Tate, Dr. Thea Perkins, and Leslie Perkins, Jr.; his 2 
16granddaughters; and his 2 great-grandchildren; therefore, be 
17it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
19NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
20mourn the passing of Rev. Leslie H. Perkins, Sr., and extend

1our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who 
2knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
