HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow has announced her retirement as 
3Special Assistant for Community Relations at Northwestern 
4University in Evanston; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow began her service at Northwestern 
6University in November of 1999, serving as the University's 
7first community liaison to the City of Evanston with the goal 
8of creating new and effective partnerships between the 
9University, the community, and the City of Evanston; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow was successful in spearheading new 
11initiatives to strengthen the relationship between the City of 
12Evanston and Northwestern, including the partnership with 
13Evanston Township High School to increase collaborations in 
14science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics 
15and to enhance learning opportunities at the school; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow has been actively engaged in the 
17Evanston community, serving on community and civic 
18organizations such as the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, which 
19she served as president for 2 years, and Northwestern's United 
20Way campaign, where she served as co-chair for more than 10 
21years; and

1    WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow was instrumental in bolstering 
2Northwestern's volunteer and service programs, which enhanced 
3the health, skills, and well-being of residents in the City of 
4Evanston; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lucile Krasnow's passion for the City of Evanston 
6and devotion to the University allowed her to create mutually 
7beneficial partnerships that have had a positive impact on the 
8University's teaching and learning experience; therefore, be 
9it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
12recognize the significant professional achievements of Lucile 
13Krasnow and express our sincere gratitude for the invaluable 
14contributions she has made to the City of Evanston and 
15Northwestern University; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Lucile Krasnow as a symbol of our esteem and 
18respect.
