HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Katie Groves on the 
4occasion of receiving the Illinois Association of Colleges for 
5Teacher Education's Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Katie Groves is finishing her second year teaching 
7fourth grade at Carterville Intermediate School; she is already 
8well known by her peers as a highly effective teacher who works 
9diligently with students and their parents to ensure each 
10child's success; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Even during her stint as a student teacher at 
12Tri-C Elementary School in Carterville, Katie Groves was 
13perceived as a fellow teacher; she is noted for her leadership 
14and collaborative skills with grade-level colleagues and the 
15school community as a whole; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Katie Groves led the grade-level team that rewrote 
17the English Language Arts curriculum, which is tied to the 
18Common Core State Standards; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Katie Groves is well regarded by her peers for her 
20great enthusiasm for teaching, her boundless energy, and her 
21outstanding work ethic; and

1    WHEREAS, Katie Groves serves as a model of hard work, 
2integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
3Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate Katie Groves on the occasion of receiving the 
7Illinois Association of Colleges for Teacher Education's 
8Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award and wish her continued 
9success and happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Katie Groves as a symbol of our esteem and 
12respect.
