HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lanetta 
4Smith, who passed away on January 6, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lanetta Smith was born in Chicago to Lavelle 
6Campbell and Shirley Walls; she attended Near North Career 
7Magnet High School and studied at the University of Illinois at 
8Chicago and Moraine Valley College, where she obtained her 
9Journeyman Electrician Certification; she married Darryl 
10Smith; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Lanetta Smith was an active member of her 
12community; her children's education was extremely important to 
13her and she was a member of the PTA and Suder Montessori; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Lanetta Smith was affectionately known as "Net"; 
15and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Lanetta Smith is survived by her mother, Shirley 
17Walls; her husband, Darryl Smith; her sons, Jake (Daniel), 
18Dominique, Christopher, Justus, Darryl, Michael, and Ascher; 
19her daughters, Diamond, Charity, Arete, Maya, and Ashari; her 
20sister, Tracy Campbell; her special friends, Mother Estella 
21Timms, Keteena Owens, Veronica Smith, and Natalie Kidd; and a

1multitude of family and friends too numerous to list; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5mourn the passing of Lanetta Smith, and extend our sincere 
6condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
7her; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Lanetta Smith as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
