SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Roland W. Knecht of Bunker Hill, who 
4passed away on October 30, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Roland Knecht was born in Alton on November 17, 
61946 to Wilbur H. and LaVerne (nee Gabriel) Knecht; he married 
7Susan A. (nee Baxter) Knecht in Bonita, California; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Roland Knecht served in the United States Navy for 
922 years; he also worked as a farmer; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Roland Knecht was a member of American Legion Hall 
11Post 578, 4-H, and the Country Bible Church in Bunker Hill, 
12where he served as a Trustee; he was a John Deere enthusiast; 
13and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Roland Knecht was preceded in death by his 
15parents; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Roland Knecht is survived by his wife, Sue; his 
17children, Jody (Ken) Reeves, Ronald Knecht, Kim (Jim) 
18Walsworth, Kenneth Kerns, and Kevin (Nedra) Kerns; his 
19grandchildren, Jama Reeves, Quinton Reeves, Kathleen 
20Walsworth, Casandra Walsworth, Aaron Walsworth, Mark Kerns,

1Michael Kerns, Ashley Kerns, Joe Rieser, Jimmy Rieser, Skylar 
2Rieser, and Brelynna Rieser; his great-grandchildren, Blake 
3(Michelle) Rieser, Allison Rieser, and Christopher James 
4Rieser; his siblings, Loren (Diane) Knecht, Russell (Roberta) 
5Knecht, Janet (Harold) Tackett, and Arlean (Sonny) Balai; and 
6several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews;

8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
10Roland W. Knecht, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
12further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to  the family of  Roland Knecht as an expression of 
15our deepest sympathy.
